Google search engine began in 1990s and became most popular search tool. Many millions of people used the engines every day, but searching them was free. A few years after Google launched, they started their Adwords system. Adwords is the system that produces the advertisements in Google's search results pages. Add usually match each search result page and an advertiser don’t pay anything unless a surfer clicks on the ad. Adwords became very popular among advertisers, and Google started to make money. Google's total advertising revenues were USD$28 billion in 2010. 
 
 
WHAT IS PPC Pay-Per-Click advertisements:
 
Advertisers select the words that can generate their ads and the maximum amount they will pay per click. When a person search something related to his or her title on Google adds for appropriate words are revealed as "sponsored links" on the right side of the screen, and sometimes above the main search results. Click through rates (CTR) for the ads are about 8% for the first ad, 5% for the second one, and 2.5% for the third one. Search results can return from 0 to 12 ads.
 
 
Spreading AdWords:
 
All Adwords ads are eligible to be shown on www.google.com. Advertisers also have the option of enabling their ads to show on Google's partner networks. The "search network" includes AOL search, Ask.com, and Netscape. Like www.google.com, these search engines show Adwords ads in response to user searches, but do not affect quality score. Google Display Network" (formerly referred to as the "content network") shows Adwords ads on sites that are not search engines. These content network sites are those that use AdSense and DoubleClick.

DISADVANTAGES:
 
When people search on Google they mostly view the results on the left side and often don’t look on the right side where paid ads are displayed. Therefore you May miss some of your targeted keyword phrases. If there are many advertisers in your market your cost per click will be very low.
